Our 2010 meeting will be held at the Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa in Birmingham, Alabama from Wednesday April 21st to Sunday April 25Th.
Our speaker will be Dr. David Sarver, who recently has been featured on NBC’s “The Today Show”, ABC’s “The View” and Fox News. As restorative dentists we should no longer only associate esthetics in terms of anterior tooth display and smile design. Dr. Sarver’s presentation presents new concepts on how the face and smile age with time. New concepts in treatment planning with the restorative dentist, the orthodontist, periodontist and oral surgeon that will change our patients appearance for the long haul will be presented.
Also scheduled to speak will be Dr. Hue Thomas, Dean of the Alabama School of Dentistry, Dr. Peter Waite, Head of the Department of Oral Surgery, University of Alabama School of Dentistry. Dr. Mary MacDougall one of the leading pioneers in dental genetic research and one of our own, Dr. Paul Scruggs who will present many of the advancements he has noted in the area of Dental Implants.
For those who play Golf, Wednesday morning will be played at Shoal Creek Golf Club, home of Two PGA Championships and the 2008 Jr. PGA Championship. Wednesday afternoon will be spent at the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame. Wednesday night dinner will be at the renowned Highlands Bar and Grill, Frank Stitts recently named as one of the top five restaurants in the United States.
Thursday morning our annual golf scramble will be played at Ross Bridge, two weeks prior to the Senior PGA event on the same course. Thursday evening we will have our annual state reception at Ross Bridge.
After our Friday morning speakers we hope to have tours through the Mercedes SUV Plant, tours through the Paul “Bear”Bryant Museum, the Westervelt-Warner Museum of American art, the Gardens of Jack and Susan Warner, and fabulous meal at the North River Yacht Club.
Saturday Dr. Sarver will speak all day and Saturday evening we will follow up with another unforgettable meal with entertainment.
Our annual going away breakfast will be Sunday Am. Please take this unique opportunity to bring your orthodontist and/or oral surgeon whom you work with to not only hear Dr. Sarver, and his team, but also spend time on the golf courses and social events with them.
For the spouses, tours to the Decorators Show House and tours through the Southern Living Magazine Complex, have been arranged. Trips to the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, Botanical Gardens, Birmingham Zoo and The Civil Rights Museum can be arranged.
